Last,
but certainly not least in the series of articles on Gyro widows, we
come to Del Simon. This lady attends and participates in so many
committee meetings, such as Blacklake Master Association, The Oaks,
plus San Luis Obispo county meetings (relating to Blacklake Village) as
a result of legal matters, that she sometimes meets herself coming and
going . . . . all this Pro-Bono, as a volunteer. (I don't think
the county or Blacklake could afford her if they had to pay an hourly
wage). We are so fortunate to have a lady of this caliber and
integrity, who is knowledgeable and able to act on our behalf.
Del feels it is necessary for her to keep busy and to have contact with
other people. She really enjoys attending Gyro meetings and
socials where she is able to interact with other Gyros. She feels
that it is important to have the companionship of others , and the
feeling gained is friendship and being with caring people. It's
comfortable. Oh, if you must contact Del, I must warn you, . . .
don't call her on Thursday morning as she won't be home. Her most
important meeting is scheduled at 9:00 AM Thursday, and this is one
meeting she will not miss. Yes, you guessed it . . . the hair-dresser.
